Case Study: Experiencing Neck Pain Relief With Advanced Therapies

One of our patients, a 59-year-old woman, had experienced significant health challenges, including cancer, chemotherapy, and kidney issues that led to the removal of one kidney. Additionally, she faced considerable spinal degeneration, with her primary complaint being neck pain. When she first came to our office, her disability rating was at a concerning 52%.

Slow Beginnings and Gradual Improvement

Her initial progress after receiving care was modest; after one month of treatment, her disability rating only decreased by 2%, from 52% to 50%. However, she began to notice that the acute pain bursts were becoming less frequent and less intense.

Experiencing Breakthrough With Advanced Therapies

The real breakthrough came when we integrated advanced therapies into her treatment plan. We employed cervical decompression and interferential current, such as electric stim with heat. Dr. Scott said, “A couple of weeks into care we started laser therapy, and then she started seeing more change quicker after that.” This combination of treatments significantly accelerated her recovery.

Remarkable Progress and Maintenance

By the patient’s third assessment on June 17, 2024, her disability rating had dramatically dropped to 20%, effectively cutting her initial rating by more than half. She now maintains a consistent pain scale of one to two out of ten and is on a weekly maintenance plan, soon to shift to bi-weekly adjustments. Dr. Scott encouraged persistence, stating, “Sometimes it just takes a while, and eventually we hit the crest of the hill, and then things start improving.”
